Second attempts tend to be better. It could be the maturity attributed to the time, it could be the experience attributed to the lessons, but we would like to call it progress. Dumis9nei, real name Dumisani Chirwa, seems to be going through this phase. At the onset of the release of his second Album, it has been revealed that he will dedicate 80% of the Album sales to charity.

Having released his first Album in 2018, the Mzuzu based artist says he took time to reflect on the power and positivity that music (read: Reggae) can bring to individuals and societies. This process inspired him to do something different with his second offering. The new Album, dubbed ‘Love & Reggae’, is due for completion soon.

In partnership with Tonga Heritage, 1ne Heart (formerly known as Warm Heart), KB Wear and Judith Foundation, plans are in the pipeline to use 80% of the Album sales to fund the construction of a house for a certain woman in the area where Dumis9nei hails from. A yet to be announced resort in Nkhata Bay has also offered to host Dumis9nei, allowing him to perform there as part of the Album launch.

Taking advantage of the newly introduced TNM Mpamba Virtual Card, Dumis9nei will involve Reggae265.com to handle online sales of the Album. The Media Officer for Reggae265.com , Jacob Chimbwabwa, has since pledged support and revealed they are working on the best algorithm possible to unlock the online sales feature.

Mussa Nkuna, the Director of 1ne Heart, will lead the project implementation. Other stakeholders involved are the Chief of the area, the Area Development Committee and the Ward Councillor. Liaison with officials from Mzuzu City Council is underway.

Finer details regarding the release of the Album will be announced in due course.
